En los últimos tiempos, por llamar de alguna manera a la frecuencia con la que actualizo esta cosa, me he centrado más en la parte de cuadrinos. Un par de discos para equilibrar la balanza contracultural.

Los dos primeros son música con ruidinos: organos, cachivaches electrónicos y sonidos más sintéticos, a veces hasta de juguete. El disco de TV-Resistori es el más casiotónico, pero no es dulzón y simple como, por ejemplo, Awesome Animal Ambulance. Hay voces graves, incluso algo ronca la del cantante, ritmos vigorosos (Melodi Melodika) y toques de tristeza en algunas canciones (Initiaanidisko). En un grupo de pop finlandés o sueco parece imposible encontrar oscuridad y angustia existencial, pero tampoco son éstas canciones luminosas de un mundo piruleta a lo Suburban Kids With Biblical Names.TV-resistori: los acusados

Bring It Back, de Mates Of State se ha supervitaminado y supermineralizado más. Tiene melodías atmosféricas, juegos de voces que van desde casi el susurro a los coros efervescentes de Pretty Girls Make Graves (So Many Ways, Think Long) y canciones tranquilas que estallan en estribillos mucho más intensos o alegres. Beautiful Dreamer es un buen ejemplo, un ritmo militar y un órgano seguidos sin embargo por un estribillo luminoso y pegadizo. No dicen "Uhu uhu" pero alcanzan el "iiihi" de fondo, que siempre da puntos a una canción. For The Actor es el tema más fiestero junto con Fraud in the 80s. Algunas canciones se pierden al final alargándose demasiado, pero el disco es más que recomendable. Mates of State

Cambiando de palo, She Wants Revenge de She Wants Revenge. She Wants Revenge partes 1 y 2 (de 2)Oscuros, muy oscuros. Decir que suenan como Joy Division es quedarse corto con canciones como Red Flags and Long Nights. O These Things = Interpol. Y el resto se quedan por ahí, un poco más bailongos a ratos, otras veces más humo-terciopelo negro-rallazo mental. ¿Aportar algo nuevo? Emmmm no, no demasiado. Como los Editors, supongo. O los Monos Árticos, en su rollo. Si eres propenso a este palo un revival al año no hace daño, sobre todo siendo la discografía de Joy Division tan cortita. Realmente este disco es como comerse un filete con 23 años: no te va abrir los ojos; pero a veces te apetece, y a fin de cuentas dejar un filete en su punto ideal se merece un respeto. Rosa fuerte, ligeramente sangrante. Con sal gorda. Ligéramente marron por la superficie, pero con una constra imperceptible. Mmmmm.

Eso sí, si los originales te parecen un espanto entonces me temo que toca comer pescado.
